Unless noted otherwise, the copyright for all site content, photographs, movies, downloadable files and delivered prints is owned by The Guthrie Project. Under no circumstance shall any photograph, print, movie, document, text and/or other website or delivered content be copied, reproduced or distributed to disseminate, sell, publish, broadcast or circulate to any party without the written prior consent of The Guthrie Project. Purchasing a digital download or a physical print does not transfer copyright to any purchaser. Purchasers are only buying a license to use a digital file or print, as defined within the relevant Usage License.
The photographs and movies that are available as digital downloads are supplied in JPG or MP4 format. All images are delivered to purchasers âcleanâ with watermarks removed. Screen-resolution files are provided with 2048 pixels on the longest side. Print-resolution files are provided at the full resolution of the original captured file; in most instances these files will exceed 6000 pixels on the long edge.
Digital download items will be made available upon receipt of payment. Purchasers will receive an automated email containing download instructions. An active internet connection is required to download the files. Digital files must be downloaded within 7 days of purchase. The downloaded files do not expire once downloaded, and can be opened/viewed as many times as is desired, after they have been successfully downloaded by the purchaser.
All digital downloads are subject to a standard, self-funded, Self-Promotional Usage License. Generally speaking, this license limits usage of the images to any publication of the images by the purchaser in any manner that is essentially published and/or funded by the purchaser for the purchaserâs own direct marketing or promotional purposes. The License does not permit usage by any 3rd-party organisations or entities such as print-editorial or digital-editorial publishers. The Photographer must be attributed whenever each image is used. Detailed Self-Promotional Usage License terms can be reviewed prior to purchase via this link. After finalising any purchase, a formal Usage License document will be emailed to each relevant purchaser.
Unless noted otherwise, all prints are made on premium, archival, Fuji-Flex cType photographic paper using a Durst Lambda digital laser printer. When âPrint Onlyâ items are purchased, the print will be carefully rolled > delivered in a cardboard tube.
Print series are provided as either Open Editions or Limited Editions. Where there is no limit on the number of prints that the photographer may sell of a particular image, these prints are described as âOpen Editionsâ. Alternatively, prints that are noted as âLimited Editionsâ are restricted in quantity - in perpetuity - and can thus be considered more rare, exclusive and valuable items.
Where an image is offered as an Open Edition, prints can be made to custom sizes upon request (either larger or smaller). Custom sizes cannot be provided for any Limited Edition images. Please contact Ben to discuss any special sizing or framing that is outside of the parameters offered on this site.
In relation to copyright, when a purchaser buys a print they are also purchasing a license to display that print in any physical location that they choose. Purchase of a print, however, does not permit any purchaser to copy, reproduce, or duplicate the print in any manner, whether physical or digital. All print purchases are subject to the usage terms displayed in the Print Display Usage License, detailed via this link.
Unless noted otherwise, framing consists of a 2cm black or white timber frame (colour is dependant on the series at hand), with the print recessed about two centimetres within the frame, mounted full-bleed, with no mat.
Glazing is available in two types: either standard perspex, or more expensive low-reflective âArt Glassâ glazing. It should be noted that dark images are more likely to appear highly reflective from some angles, depending on ambient lighting. All images look better under Art Glass, however darker images will almost always require low-reflective glazing to reduce the impact of reflectivity. Note that glass is fragile and should be handled with care at all times. Due to delivery constraints, Art Glass is only available to purchasers within metropolitan Sydney. Purchasers from outside of Sydney would probably be better off buying un-framed prints and then sourcing low-reflective glazing in their locality.
The Guthrie Project only accepts payments in Australian Dollars. International purchasers may be charged additional currency conversion fees, dependent on individual banking requirements and preferences. For further detail, please contact your bank or financial institution prior to making your transaction.
All purchases include 10% Goods and Service Tax (GST). The GST component is declared during the checkout process and is noted on all invoices.
We currently accept PayPal payments via our website, or direct debit payments via email correspondence outside of the web-based delivery system. Payments can be made using Visa, MasterCard or American Express accounts via the PayPal processing system in our online checkout, without needing to sign up for PayPal. To review the PayPal terms and conditions, visit the PayPal website via this link. The privacy policy relating to PayPal transactions can be read via this link.
If a purchaser would prefer to pay via direct-debit, the âOffline Paymentsâ option at checkout should be selected. This will initiate a slower, more old-fashioned payment process whereby a PDF invoice will be emailed to the purchaser by the Photographer after the email has been received and reviewed. These emails are not automated and may not occur for up to 3 or more days if the Photographer is busy with other matters. After a PDF invoice has been sent to a purchaser, payment details can then be made manually by the purchaser via direct-debit. Once payment has been cleared and confirmed by The Guthrie Project, the purchased items will then be processed accordingly.
At present, The Guthrie Project only delivers physical prints within Australia. All prints are shipped from Sydney, using Australia Post. If you reside in a different country and would like to purchase a physical print please contact us to discuss a special delivery. Due to delivery constraints, Art Glass is only available to purchasers within metropolitan Sydney.
Unframed prints are usually printed and sent out to be delivered in approx. 7-10 days. Framed prints take a bit longer to prepare and are usually ready to be delivered in a little over a fortnight.
Please handle prints, glass and frames with care. The Guthrie Project accepts no responsibility for any damage that might occur after an item has been delivered.
All photographs are printed on archival c-Type photographic paper. Despite this, it is recommended that prints not be hung or displayed in direct sunlight as this may negatively affect the artwork over a prolonged period of time. Where unframed prints have been purchased and are to be framed privately, please ensure that cotton gloves are worn when handling the print. Acid-free mounting materials should be utilised throughout the framing system to ensure a prolonged print life. If a print is to be stored in its unframed state for an extended period of time the print should be removed from the delivery tube and stored flat and in a cool, dry location.
The Guthrie Project has taken care to ensure that all products, images and descriptions are described as accurately as possible. While mistakes are uncommon, we cannot guarantee that errors and/or omissions may not occur and we reserve the right to make corrections if and when necessary.
All purchasers are encouraged to double check all of the information that is provided during the online checkout process to ensure your order is processed as efficiently as possible. Where delivery and/or payment details are not entered correctly or not approved, The Guthrie Project will take reasonable steps to contact a purchaser. In the event that these contact details are also incorrect, The Guthrie Project will not be held responsible for not fulfilling any order.
Returns and exchanges are available within 14 days of receipt of an item, as long as the item is returned in the same condition in which it was received, and is returned in the original packaging. Note that returns, exchanges or refunds will not be granted if a purchaser simply changes their mind. Please contact us to arrange an exchange or refund and include your name, address, phone number, valid reason for return and note whether you are requesting an exchange or refund. In the event of an exchange, an additional shipping cost will be charged; this will be the cost of shipping the new item to you; this additional shipping cost will not be charged if the reason for return is a fault of The Guthrie Project. Shipping costs paid by purchasers at the time of order are non-Ârefundable. If a purchaser is granted a refund, the cost of return shipping will be met by the purchaser. When a returned item has been received by The Guthrie Project, it will be inspected and the purchaser will then be notified that the returned item has been received. The purchaser will then be notified on the status of any refund after inspection of the item. If a return is approved, a refund will then be processed.
If you receive a damaged product, we will refund you the purchase price or provide a replacement. If damage to the product should occur during delivery, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order with details and an image of the damaged goods so that replacement processes can be commenced. Please obtain and provide proof of postage when returning goods.
If work has not commenced on processing your order, your order can be cancelled by email. This should be within 48 hours of placing your order. If work has commenced on your order a charge will be incurred to cover costs. If the item has already been posted, then no cancellations will be accepted, except where applicable under Australian Consumer Law.
