What's a Guthrie Project ?
The Guthrie Project is a small collection of the creative work of Ben Guthrie. With formal training in both architecture and photography, most of Ben's time is spent photographing buildings from outside to inside for architects, builders, interior designers and other building professionals.
When not working on a commercial basis for architectural clients, Ben can be found quietly toiling away on a number of personal projects. These include attempts at capturing the dizzying pace of moving through urban moments with his 'Fluttering Shutter' project, or occasionally shooting nightscapes out under clear rural skies or amidst the light pollution of our urban surroundings.

Acknowledgement
of Country
The Guthrie Project acknowledges the Eora, Gadigal, Wangal, Bidjigal, Dharawal, Darug, Guringai, Wiradjuri, Kameygal and Murubora people of the land immediately around us, as well as the indigenous communities of the broader nations who have occupied this land for tens of thousands of years.
This Australian land upon which we walk, make commerce and exchange real estate is contested space; it is stolen land. Its sovereignty has not been ceded. We support the need for a Makarrata and treaty between this country’s first peoples and those who have come to occupy it more recently. We support the calls for constitutional recognition of the traditional custodians of this land and for a formal First Nation’s Voice to Parliament. It's time to pay the rent.
We pay homage to the rich culture and story-telling traditions of the first Australians and to their elders – past, present and emerging.

Thanks for scrolling down this far.
It started in 1999.
A narcissistic habit developed.
As a result, Ben now feels compelled to capture a photograph of himself every day.
Here's one year's worth, twenty years in.
